Botman Hydroponics Growing System

Botman Hydroponics has developed an innovative system for the efficient and sustainable greenhouse-based production of hydroponic crops – from germination/propagation (for example in a vertical farming setup under LED lighting) right through to harvesting.

The seedlings and plants are potted directly into specially engineered floating boards and injection-molded rafts made from food-safe plastics.

These are then floated on a layer of water (30-40 cm / 12-16 inches deep) in the greenhouse basin, allowing the plant roots to hang in the water.

Propagation on the Botman Hydroponics Tray

  • Made of food-safe High Density Polyethylene (HDPE). This High-quality smooth plastic is easy to keep clean.
  • Usable for either vertical propagation as well as propagation in a climate room.
  • Easy to automate for transplanting.
  • Designed to fit the Growcoon which matches the cone of the Botman Hydroponics Raft.

Cultivation on the Botman Hydroponics Raft

  • Made of food-safe High Density Polyethylene (HDPE). This High-quality smooth plastic is easy to keep clean.
  • Can be fully automated due to the design and geometry.
  • Can be stacked. The ribs in the Rafts provide good support.
  • Is equipped with a straight pushing edge for optimal stability during transport.
  • Is heat permeable, growers can use the system to control the temperature both around the roots and the rest of the plant in an energy-efficient manner.
  • Due to the 3D design of the cone, growing taller crops as large as Romaine or Pak Choi is not a problem for the system.
